1st EDITION “RACE OF A THOUSAND” – LA MADDALENA AND CAPRERA – SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 2

Sunday, September 2 goes to the first edition of the “Race of a Thousand”, an event road race that will take place this Sunday in the beautiful setting of the two major islands of the Maddalena Archipelago National Park, destined to athletes or just jogging and sponsored by the management of the protected area.

The Association of Pozzu Bidda and ASD Podistica Sassari, in collaboration with the Association Currichisimagna and ENDAS Regional, and supported by the Province Olbia-Tempio, the City of La Maddalena and CONI Provincial, and with the approval and the technical collaboration of the Provincial Committee FIDAL Sardinia, organized for the morning of Sunday, September 2, the first edition of the event Running provincial “open” called “Race Mile”, which will take place from La Maddalena and Caprera arrival.

Competitive edition of the “Race of a Thousand” is open to all athletes from the junior categories, Promises, Senior, Amateur and Master Men and Women under the rules FIDAL, as well as all those who, although not FIDAL, are recognized in 2012 to an organization to promote sports recognized by the Olympic Committee, arranged with FIDAL and are in possession of medical certificate of fitness to competitive activity. At the same time it is planned to conduct a non-competitive race over a distance of about six kilometers that will take participants from the island of La Maddalena to Caprera, to which all can participate regardless of age or sex, by completing a disclaimer responsibility. The event also provides a short run demonstration aimed at all children who wish to participate.

Technical Program / Registration
08.30: Meeting Juries and athletes, delivery pectoral race at Command square (piazza
Umberto I) where is the departure;
Attention: The ferry tickets A / R-La Maddalena Palau will be delivered by
staff Saturday, September 1 from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 until
at 18 pm, and Sunday morning from 7.30 am until 8.30 am;
09.30: Race demo for children;
10.00: Departure of contemporary competitive race (15 km) and non-competitive
(About 6km), Piazza Command (La Maddalena).
Competitive procurement
– € 10 entry fee for each athlete affiliated FIDAL;
– Extra charge of € 5 as a contribution to the costs of the ferry.
The participation fee includes: bib, goody bag (t-shirt technical officer
event, guaranteed to the first 300 members), transfer Palau – La Maddalena A / R,
transfer after the game to return to Mary Magdalene, any sponsors gadgets,
health care, supplies, refreshments and prizes for the final extraction.

Non-competitive race
The fee is set at € 10.00, and includes T-shirt of the event,
pectoral transfer Palau – La Maddalena A / R, transfer at the end of the race to return to the
Maddalena, health care, and any final refreshment gadgets from sponsors and
press extraction.

All athletes and / or Presidents of the society to which they belong, with the inclusion of state
know and accept this Regulation, including the rules on protection of health in
athletics, as required by Ministerial Decree of 18.02.1982 (G.U. 03.05.1983) and by D.M.
supplementary 28.02.1983 (OJ 15.3.1983) on the assessment of the suitability for mandatory
competitive sports activities. By registering then, all participants declare that they are in
accordance with the rules FIDAL or federations of belonging, exempting this sense, the Committee
organizing any liability with regard to health protection, civil and criminal.
Route
The race will start at Piazza Command (Piazza Umberto I) Maddalena and direct
to the waterfront, where you can see the Admiralty and commissioned officers of the School
Navy, and the final construction performed for the G8. We will continue towards the village
Moneta, and will pass on a part of history that is the bridge that connects the two islands,
where the non-competitive race pass by the Conigliera (sea side) and arrive in Stagnali
(Location of the Park). The competitive race will continue to Punta Rossa, where you can
admire the sea to the right and to the left, making a tour of Boa will return to Stagnali,
