1943-2013 – MEMORIE DI UNA CAGLIARI BOMBARDATA – 15-17 FEBBRAIO1943-2013 – MEMOIRS OF A BOMBED CAGLIARI – FEBRUARY 15 TO 17

Nel contesto della ricorrenza del 70° anniversario dei bombardamenti anglo–americani che devastarono Cagliari nel 1943, data significativa per la memoria storica della città e dei suoi abitanti, l’Associazione ha organizzato un ciclo di incontri di approfondimento per portare all’attenzione dei cittadini e degli studenti i tragici eventi che hanno segnato la storia contemporanea della città.
In questo modo auspichiamo di riportare alla memoria dei testimoni vecchi ricordi e, allo stesso tempo, rendere le nuove generazioni consapevoli di una fase fondamentale della storia recente da loro spesso ignorata.
L’evento si svolgerà nelle giornate del 15, 16 e 17 febbraio 2013.
Le mattine del 15 e del 16 febbraio saranno inaugurate da due conferenze con tematiche differenti, ciascuna delle quali supportata da proiezioni di video dell’epoca e interventi di relatori dell’Università di Cagliari, nonché di testimoni diretti.
Gli interventi offriranno una panoramica del periodo bellico sotto l’aspetto storico, artistico e sociale e consentiranno di rivivere i momenti più tragici e umanamente significativi attraverso i racconti di chi li ha vissuti in prima persona.
Al termine della conferenza, i temi trattati saranno contestualizzati attraverso le visite guidate ai rifugi antiaerei della Cripta di Santa Restituta in via Sant’Efisio, della Galleria – Rifugio di via Don Bosco e della Cavità delle Cinque Colonne in via Vittorio Veneto, dove le guide dell’associazione illustreranno le caratteristiche dei siti, raccontando aneddoti, storie e vicissitudini di chi visse in quei luoghi.
Lo stesso itinerario sarà proposto anche nella mattinata di domenica 17 febbraio non solo per la rilevanza della data, ma anche per consentire una più ampia partecipazione della cittadinanza alle attività proposte.

As part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Anglo-American bombing that devastated Cagliari in 1943, a significant date for the history of the city and its inhabitants, the Association has organized a series of meetings held to bring to the attention of citizens and students of the tragic events that have marked the modern history of the city.
In this way we hope to bring back old memories to the memory of the witnesses and, at the same time make the younger generation aware of a crucial phase in recent history they often ignored.
The event will take place on 15, 16 and 17 February 2013.
Morning on 15 and 16 February will be inaugurated by two conferences with different themes, each of which is supported by video projections of the time and work of the University of Cagliari speakers, as well as witnesses.
Interventions provide an overview of the war from the historical, artistic and social and allow you to relive the most tragic and humanly significant through the stories of those who experienced them firsthand.
After the conference, the topics will be contextualized through guided tours of the air-raid shelters in the crypt of Santa Restituta in Sant’Efisio by the Galleria – Shelter Don Bosco Street and the cavity of the Five Pillars in Via Vittorio Veneto, where the guides association illustrate the characteristics of the sites, telling anecdotes, stories and adventures of those who lived in those places.
The same route will also be offered in the morning of Sunday, February 17 not only for the relevance of the date, but also to allow for greater citizen participation in the proposed activities.
