La Sagra del Redentore si svolge a Nuoro il 29 Agosto, data che ricorda la collocazione sulla vetta del Monte Ortobene di una colossale statua del Cristo Redentore.
La festa laica che si celebra domenica 25 agosto 2013, è quella che gode del maggior afflusso di pubblico mentre quella religiosa è sicuramente  la più sentita dai nuoresi. Nel giorno del Santo Redentore la popolazione si raduna all’alba nella piazza di fronte alla Cattedrale e, intonando canti in lingua sarda, inizia il pellegrinaggio a piedi che arriva fino alla statua del Redentore sul monte che sovrasta Nuoro. Il corteo viene aperto da un carro a buoi addobbato con spighe di grano e fiori di oleandro. Arrivati al cospetto della statua viene celebrata una prima messa, seguita, poco prima di mezzogiorno, dalla messa solenne, animata dai canti della tradizione e intonati da tutti i devoti, e da una solenne processione intorno all’anello stradale del monte Ortobene. La grande festa laica prevede invece una bellissima e coloratissima sfilata. Il corteo dei costumi è costituito da gruppi provenienti da tutta l’Isola, che percorrono tutta la città tra canti e balli tipici. Conclusa la sfilata una selezione di gruppi anima il festival del folklore, una manifestazione che si svolge nell’anfiteatro nel centro di Nuoro.

compra i biglietti online The Feast of the Redeemer in Nuoro takes place on August 29, the date that commemorates the location on the summit of Mount Ortobene of a colossal statue of Christ the Redeemer.
The secular holiday that is celebrated on Sunday, August 25, 2013, is the one that has the most number of visitors while the religious one is definitely felt by most Nuoro. On the day of the Holy Redeemer people gather at dawn in the square in front of the Cathedral, and singing songs in the Sardinian language, the pilgrimage walk that reaches the Redeemer statue on the mountain overlooking Nuoro. The procession is opened by an ox-drawn wagon decorated with ears of wheat and flowers of oleander. Arrived in front of the statue is celebrated the first Mass, followed, shortly before noon, the solemn mass, animated by traditional hymns and sung by all devotees, and by a solemn procession around the ring road of Mount Ortobene. The great secular holiday instead provides a beautiful and colorful parade. The parade of costumes is made by groups from all over the island, which run throughout the city, singing and dancing. Ended the show a selection of soul groups the folklore festival, an event that takes place in the amphitheater in the center of Nuoro.
