Il Festival di Cuncambias, nasce nell’estate del 2004 per ricordare la persona di Alfonso “Anselmo” Spiga, drammaturgo, uomo di cultura e amico come pochi altri.

La parola Cuncambias, nella variante campidanese della lingua sarda significa “baratto, scambio”, e la manifestazione ha fatto del suo significato letterale la sua filosofia.

Cuncambias è un un progetto/Festival laboratoriale e gioioso, capace di affrontare il presente con le armi della cultura e della socialità, fatto di elementi di teatro, musica, letteratura, incontri, mostre, cultura del cibo e buone pratiche messi insieme a produrre qualcosa in più della somma degli ingredienti, ovvero una pietanza capace di stimolare gli appetiti intellettuali più esigenti e allo stesso tempo di “sfamare” in modo diretto e popolare i palati dei tanti che, da un prodotto culturale, pretendono soprattutto immediatezza e spunti collettivi.

Il Festival si svolge a San Sperate, in Sardegna, nell’ultima settimana del mese di luglio e, proprio in virtù della sua anima popolare, coinvolge l’intero rione storico di San Giovanni che si trasforma in spazio scenico allestito e abbellito con installazioni scenografiche permanenti che arricchiscono il suo tessuto urbano.

La suggestione dei vicoli, delle piazze e delle lollas del rione del resto, garantiscono quella atmosfera e quella convivialità tra artisti e spettatori che è una delle caratteristiche di Cuncambias: inutile dire come questo possa accadere solo grazie alla disponibilità e al senso civico degli abitanti, oltre che alla capacità degli organizzatori di renderli partecipi attori degli avvenimenti.

La ripetizione è uno dei segreti della musica pop, che non a caso ha fatto della canzone d’amore uno dei suoi simboli più riconoscibili. L’amore sembra fatto apposta per essere cantato, per diventare ritornello, e c’è chi dice, credo a ragione, che non si possa fare buona musica senza passione, senza amore.

Ecco, anche per Cuncambias si può parlare d’amore, in un’accezione simile sia per quanto riguarda la ripetizione – 10 anni di seguito con la stessa riconoscibile fisionomia sono un evento, senza dubbio, per un progetto culturale – sia per la sua vena pop (che sta per popolare, la vera arma segreta di Cuncambias) e sia, ovviamente, per la passione incredibile che anima tutti coloro che si definiscono e si sanno “popolo di Cuncambias”. Non è possibile spiegarla che così, la straordinaria resistenza di un progetto capace di sopportare instabilità economiche e momenti dolorosi, crisi generale e personali difficoltà, se non riflettendo sulla sua storia a partire da quel “Festival di cultura popolare” che, fiero, continua a sottotitolare ogni edizione, e lo fa essere ogni anno sia la festa di un rione, sia il Festival di una comunità, sia una delle manifestazioni – a modesto parere di chi scrive, che però è parte in causa – più originali e ospitali dell’isola.

Così è per amore e solo per amore, come recita il titolo di questa edizione del decennale, che facciamo le cose da quel ormai non più così prossimo 2004, e per amore continuiamo a resistere e a tenere alta la bandiera dello scambio e del confronto, con gli amici e gli artisti (e gli artisti amici, che sono in continuo aumento) di sempre e quelli che di volta in volta si aggiungeranno, nell’ottica del coinvolgimento e dell’inclusione, della creazione e della sperimentazione, meglio se di fronte a un bel bicchiere di vino e una succulenta panada a buon prezzo (che da dieci anni non sono davvero mai mancati). È un edizione che si propone anche come sintesi di un percorso, come riflessione su di un ciclo, questa decima, e non potrebbe essere altrimenti, se pensiamo allo sforzo continuo che il gruppo-base compie per tenere sempre alta la qualità dell’offerta e lo spirito comunitario che il progetto sottende, elementi che costano fatica e lavoro, ma senza i quali questa singolare combinazione di creatività e convivialità che è il Festival non potrebbe esistere.

Ecco, se quest’anno c’è un vero tema, dietro quel bellissimo e (anche) metaforico sentimento che è l’amore, dietro le decine di appuntamenti disseminati come sempre in una intensa settimana di teatro, musica, incontri, poesia e convivialità, beh, quel tema continua ad essere la ricerca, costante e continua, della normalità. Normalità che è, soprattutto, bisogno di riconoscere nei più anziani tra noi, nei più fragili tra noi, nei più speciali tra noi nient’altro che uno dei possibili, comuni, eccezionali, dolorosi, gioiosi e sempre straordinari segreti della vita. Da tutelare, proteggere e sostenere, nei tanti modi possibili. Le comunità servono a questo. I Festival come il nostro servono anche a questo. Per non parlare dell’amore, che se non serve a questo, forse non è nemmeno amore. E allora, buona festa dei dieci anni, Cuncambias

di Mauro CabboiThe Festival of Cuncambias, born in the summer of 2004 to remind the person of Alfonso “Anselmo” Spiga, playwright, friend and man of culture like few others.

The word Cuncambias in Campidanese variant of the Sardinian language means “barter exchange”, and the show has done its literal meaning of his philosophy.

Cuncambias is a project / Festival workshop and joyful, able to face the present with the weapons of culture and social life, made up of elements of theater, music, literature, meetings, exhibitions, food culture and best practices put together to produce something more than the sum of the ingredients, or a dish that stimulates the appetite intellectuals demanding and at the same time to “feed” in a direct and popular tastes of the many who, from a cultural product, especially demand immediacy and collective ideas.

The Festival takes place in San Sperate, Sardinia, in the last week of July and, by virtue of its popular soul, involves the entire historic district of St. John which is transformed into the stage space prepared and embellished with spectacular installations permanent enriching its urban fabric.

The charm of the narrow streets, squares and lollas the rest of the district, ensure that atmosphere and that fellowship between artists and spectators who is one of the characteristics of Cuncambias: needless to say how this could happen only because of the availability and the civic sense of the people, as well as the ability of the organizers to make them aware of events actors.

Repetition is one of the secrets of pop music, which not coincidentally has made love song one of its most recognizable symbols. Love seems made to be sung, to become chorus, and some say, I think rightly, that we can not make good music without passion, without love.

Here, even for Cuncambias you can talk about love, in a sense similar both in terms of repetition – 10 years later with the same recognizable physiognomy are an event, no doubt, for a cultural project – both for its vein pop (which stands for popular, the true secret weapon Cuncambias) and is, of course, for the incredible passion that animates all those who call themselves and are able to “people of Cuncambias.” You can not explain it so that the extraordinary resistance of a project able to withstand economic instability and painful moments, the general crisis and personal difficulty, if not reflecting on its history, starting from the “Festival of popular culture,” which, proud, continues to subtitling each edition, and it does have every year is the celebration of a ward, the Festival is a community, is one of the manifestations – a humble opinion of the writer, but he was a party – the most original and hospitable island .

So it is with love and only love, as the title of this anniversary edition, we do things from that which is no longer so close, 2004, and for the love we continue to resist and to hold high the banner of exchange and comparison with friends and artists (artists and friends, who are still rising) of all time and those that will be added from time to time, in view of the involvement and inclusion, creation and experimentation, preferably in front of a nice glass of wine and a succulent panada cheap (who for ten years have not really ever missed). It is an edition that also serves as a synthesis of a path, as a reflection of a cycle, this tithe, and could not be otherwise, if we think of the continuous effort that the group-base makes to keep the high quality of supply and community spirit that underlies the project, items costing effortlessly and work, but without whom this unique combination of creativity and conviviality that is the Festival could not exist.

Well, if there is a real issue this year, behind that beautiful and (also) a metaphorical sense, which is love, behind the dozens of events scattered as always in an intense week of theater, music, meetings, poetry and conviviality , well, that theme continues to be the search, constant and continuous, of normality. Normality that is, above all, need to recognize in the elderly among us, in the most fragile among us, in the most special among us nothing but one of the possible, municipalities, exceptional, painful, playful and extraordinary secrets of life. To safeguard, protect and support in many ways as possible. The communities are for. Festivals like ours also serve this. Not to mention love, that if not for this, maybe you do not even love.
